About me

After having had a commercial apprenticeship I started my professional career as an export office clerk at a supplier of steel for the European market. I was contacted for demands and offers, especially within French speaking areas and on demand during acceptance tests of the company's materials as an interpreter for the customer's acceptance agent. 

SimuItaneously, I passed the exam as a foreign language correspondent for French. After having been on parental leave, I went on with a one-year further education with intensive classes of English, French and a third language, Spanish to become an international European correpondent. The course ended with the exam for the English language. Hereafter, I took on tasks as a translator in the adult’s education sector, in international meetings and for an exchange organisation within the EU Initiative ADAPT (Train the Trainer). 

In the following, I have worked as a secretary and translator for an engineering company for more than 15 years. My task were to translate especially safety reports for international competent authorities from German into English and proofread texts.

Besides, together with the special departments, I listed the terminology specific to the work of the company and developed in cooperation with my colleagues of the IT department the correspondent data base as well as a tool for gathering and processing translations. Due to the increasing demands, I worked together with several translation companies and my main task was to check and proofread the translations.

In 2019, the President of the Higher Regional Court of Duesseldorf accorded me the authorization to be a translator for the English and French language and currently, I work freelance.

Due to the changed conditions for working within the official judicial field, I passed the exam for the English language at Hessische Lehrkräfteakademie in July 2025 and now have the title Staatlich geprüfte Übersetzerin der englischen Sprache [state examined translator of the English language]. 

On 28.04.2026, the District Court of Hanover appointed me as an authorized translator for the English and French language.

What I like most is the work with the topic to be translated. Switching from one language into another and knowing the respective language makes one look upon a topic in different ways. Thus, it is most important to me to get the exact tenor and contents of the text to translate in order to transfer them into the target language so that I can confirm the result with my good name.
